Hanseo University, (located in Seosan, on the Korean west coast 1hr 20 minutes south of Seoul) is seeking full-time English instructors to join our foreign faculty from 1st semester 2009, starting late February, for classes beginning from the first week of March.
IMPORTANT: These positions are for local currently IN KOREA foreign resident teachers, or those ready to move/return to Korea IMMEDIATELY. Which means
if you are out of the country the document list further below would have to be express posted immediately. We need the entire list at our school office by Feb. 10th at the latest. If this is impossible please do not apply.
There are two kinds of positions available:
(1) General Studies English:
There are two positions teaching General Studies English. These positions require degrees in any field with appropriate English teaching experience (please see minimum requirements further below). The classes will be teaching required English course to freshmen students.
(2) International Trade Department:
There is one position available in the International Trade Department. This position requires a higher degree in International Trade (MBA or similar), and will involves teaching content courses in International Trade as well as several basic English courses too.
-Qualifications/Experience Requirements: (Please read carefully!)
The minimum requirements for application to all positions above are as follows;
*Ph.D in related field (salary negotiable based on experience).
*Master's Degree + 1 year university experience (or 2 years in public school/institute/etc).
*Bachelor's Degree + 3 years university experience (or 6 years public school/institute/etc).
-Pay/conditions;
*2 semesters of teaching 9 x 1.5 hour classes per week.
*Plus 3 weeks in either summer or winter special program (3 hours a day x 15 days)
*The pay is 30million won per year (2.5 million per month), increasing by 1 million won each year of contract renewal.
*Each professor has 1 "research day" off per week.
*Basic private (non-shared) beside campus housing is provided.
*There are 11 full weeks of vacation per year, including 7 in winter and 4 to 5 in summer, the other 6 weeks of non-teaching time is made up of grading periods, and the like.

In fact we have hired several new foreign faculty during the winter, but we still require 3 more new faculty members to fulfill our expanded faculty quota. These are things we absolutely MUST have asap to process your immigration documents internally at our university before sending most of them to immigration. It takes 2 weeks for immigration to process.

(2) Copy of Bachelor's Degree:학사학위증사본
*This is just the "original"... it does not need to be notarized.
*Though it MUST be 'orginal' not a photocopy...
(3) Copy of Master's Degree:석사학위 재학증명서

(4) Academic Records/Transcripts for Bachelor's & Master's:학사&석사학위 성적증명서
*MUST be sealed 'orginals' not photocopies...
(5) Proof of employment from jobs listed on your resume:이력서상의 모든 경력증명서
(a) You need letters, or documents that prove the jobs listed on your resume... some people object to this, and say it is impossible to get all of them... we need MOST of them at least(scanned letters on letterhead that we can print are OK). A reference letter on company paper that has dates that you worked in places is OK too.
(b) I also need to know the exact start and end month/years for the jobs listed.
(6) Copy of Police/Criminal Record Check:범죄경력증명서 사본(원본은 대산 출입국관리 사무소에 직접 제출)

*We can deal with this later at our end, if need be by contacting your employer directly and asking for a fax, but basically this is just a letter from your current boss that shows you are being released.
(9) 6 passport pictures:사진 6장
*Must be included in the packet so we can process.
(10) Education start and end dates:
*We also need to know the exact start and end month/years for your university studies for our records.
