LMC Language Center has an English teaching position open for a native English speaker who possess a Bachelors Degree (Any major is fine). We are looking for people interested in teaching English. No prior experience is necessary, but we do require you to have at least one year of work experience in any field. Patience and a true desire to teach are required.
Here's a brief outline:
1. Teach elementary / junior / high school / adult students – Monday to Friday between the hours of 10:30 AM to 10:30PM, exact schedules vary on a monthly basis according to factors such as student numbers.
2. Max. 6 teaching hours per day (additional hours are considered as overtime, and will be paid accordingly - this seldom happens). An 8 hour workday (although you will only be teaching between 5-6 hours a day).
3. Gross salary: 2,000,000 to 2,600,000 Korean Won/month, some deductions are made for utilities, local tax and medical insurance. Average taxes: 200,000 won, average utilities: 50,000 won. *** You can check the currency exchange rate. It currently is a little over 2,000 USD a month, and taxes are about 200 USD a month, average utilities are 50 USD.
4. 1 year contract
5. 1 month’s salary for severance paid at the completion of the contract.
6. Housing: Single housing.
7. Round trip airfare cost refunded by LMC upon completion of contract.
About the School
LMC Language Center is a popular language school that offers 5 language courses including: English, French, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Unlike many smaller language schools in Korea – that are run within a leased space in a commercial building – LMC’s operator owns the building and has been running the school successfully for five years now. The facilities include: 3 floors of classrooms, 1 teachers’ floor (staffroom) with a well stocked library and a computer room. Each teacher is provided with a PC in the office, a desk, teachers’ supplies, and a nice working environment. The staff is a diverse group of people from many countries teaching their native language. Almost the entire staff also speaks fluent English.

LMC is located in a new city called Goyang-si, in the district known as Ilsan. The city is closely located to both Seoul (40 minutes) and the Incheon International Airport. Both are easily accessible via subway (Line #3, Daehwa) or bus. Goyang is a clean city with a pleasant environment and features, such as Lake Park and Mt. Gobong. The city is a safe place to live and is surrounded with parks and walking trails. Also, since Ilsan was a well planned city, it offers a convenient lifestyle including medical facilities, grocery stores, large shopping malls, department stores, western style restaurants, bakeries, bookstores (with books written in English), and cafes. * Teachers apartments are within walking distance of the school (less than 10 minutes).
